The series was tied between the Los Angeles Clippers and the Phoenix Suns heading into Game 3 on Thursday. A win would’ve certainly given an advantage to one team over the other. And that team was the Phoenix Suns as they came out swinging right from the first quarter. Now the Suns hold the advantage going into Game 4, as Devin Booker outshone the entire Clippers team and snatched the home-court advantage back from the Clippers.

The Los Angeles Clippers fought a hard battle against the Phoenix Suns, despite having no Kawhi Leonard in the starting lineup. Yet, it wasn’t enough to triumph over the Suns as three-time All-Star Devin Booker came to the game with a mission.

The game was fairly even for the first two quarters as the Suns went back to the locker room with a mere three-point lead. It wasn’t until the end of the third quarter that Phoenix came out with lights-out shooting.

Despite the Suns doing everything in their power to put the game out of reach, the Clippers made sure to hang on. With no Kawhi Leonard in the lineup, it fell upon the rest of the squad to pick up the offensive load. However, Devin Booker had other plans.

But by the end of the game, it was the Suns who went home with a victory. When asked about his mindset coming into the game, Booker said, “Just win at all costs. That’s our motto, we don’t wanna give any games away.”

“Even though they were under-manned today, we know those guys are still gonna bring it. So, we had to come with a hit-first mindset and we just weathered the storm throughout the whole game,” added Booker.

The short-handed Los Angeles Clippers were led by Norman Powell’s 42-point performance. Even Russell Westbrook was in form as he finished the game with 30 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists. Bones Hyland, too, gave the Clippers a huge boost off the bench with a 20-point performance.

But it was the Suns that finally came out on top. All five starters had double-digit points by the end of the final buzzer. Kevin Durant poured in 28 points, shooting 8-15 from the field and going 11-11 from the free-throw line.

But the highlight of the night was Devin Booker’s 45-point outburst that helped the Suns come out on top. This was Booker’s fifth 40+ point playoff game that has him in a tie with Suns legend Charles Barkley for most postseason 40+ point games in Suns’ franchise history.

Though Kawhi Leonard was not available for Game 3, let’s hope he comes back to even the series in Game 4. Otherwise, this series could be over quickly.
