The third game of the seven-game series between the Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets had no surprising outcome. The 76ers took care of business, defeating the Nets with a final score of 102-97. However, only moments after his act of on-court violence, the potential MVP Joel Embiid had reporters cracking up in his post-game press conference when asked about the incident.

During the first quarter of the game, Joel Embiid ended up kicking Nets center Nic Claxton. And to everyone’s surprise, including the Inside the NBA guys, Embiid was not ejected from the game but handed a flagrant one-foul.

And Embiid’s response had the room in fits of laughter. When asked about whether he was going to get ejected or not, Embiid said, “I don’t know, I don’t remember.” And as soon as Embiid said that, the room lit up with reporters cracking up.

Even Embiid had a coy smile on his face. He continued with his dialogue, saying, “Like I said, we up 3-0, we move on. Takes you a lot to process the game after that type of fight. So, I gotta go watch the tape, see what we can do better. What I can do better and I’m just happy we got the win.”

The tweet also revealed that Embiid did remember Claxton getting ejected as opposed to his altercation with the Nets center in the first quarter of the game. But by the looks on Embiid’s face, it may be safe to say that he did not want to speculate on that first-quarter incident.

The Brooklyn Nets had the chance to win this game and put their name on the series instead of trailing 3-0. With under nine minutes left to play in the fourth quarter, the Nets were up with a four-point lead. That was until Nicolas Claxton decided to get even by taunting Joel Embiid.

Claxton managed to get a poster dunk on Embiid and flex on him. Though that dunk helped the Nets stretch their lead to six points and also give them a much-needed energy boost. However, Claxton taunting Embiid got the best of him and got him ejected.

If Claxton hadn’t done so, then maybe the Nets would not have lost the game. Alas, for the Nets, now they are down 0-3 in a series that looks like it may end up in a four-game sweep. What are your thoughts on Embiid’s comments? Let us know below.
