The Golden State Warriors continued to protect their home ground with a win against the Houston Rockets. The Warriors have now won 10 games at the Chase Center while only having lost one so far. The arena erupted in joy went the final buzzer went off. With Andrew Wiggins’ 36 points and important contributions from others on the roster, the Warriors seem to have found their rhythm. While fans on Twitter discussed this win, an unusual stat featuring Draymond Green and Michael Jordan left them in disbelief. Furthermore, this stat may make the two-time MVP Stephen Curry proud.
After the Golden State Warriors‘ 19-point win against the Houston Rockets, ESPN tweeted, “Draymond Green (582+) passed Michael Jordan (581) for most threes in a career.” Michael Jordan shot 32.7% from behind the arc. Compared to today’s standard, people might claim that three-pointers were not the six-time champion’s forte. With that said, shooting threes is not Draymond Green’s cup of tea either. His career three-point percentage stat reads 31.6%.

Such a meaningless stat/post. Jordan is ranked No. 323 in all-time three-pointers made. Are we going to get a tweet when Draymond passes Rudy Gobert in defensive rebounds?
FWIW, Jordan scored 32,000 points in his career. Green has scored 6,000.— Chad (@chadmrichardson) December 4, 2022

Draymond Green’s importance in the team
Draymond Green is, in head coach Steve Kerr’s words, the “heartbeat” of the Warriors team. He runs the defensive end while being the team’s vocal leader on the court.
The two-time MVP Stephen Curry has time and again spoken about Green’s influence on the team. He said, “We’re all built in terms of trust and chemistry, and to have a guy like [Green] who is very vocal, high IQ, has a certain approach to leadership, all that stuff matters.”

Much like the others on the Warriors team, Green started the season off rather slowly. After being penalized for the Jordan Poole punch incident in the off-season, Green looked somber on the court. However, he finally seems to be finding his groove again, not just defensively but offensively too.
He is currently averaging 9.1 points per game while being rock solid on the defense. Green recently spoke on his recent shooting form, saying, “I think I’ve been finishing the ball really well, and that’s really helped me find a rhythm.”
