The Chicago Bulls faced the Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night at the latter’s home court, Little Caesars Arena. Both teams have had a decades-long history of rivalry that was at its peak during the Michael Jordan era. Interestingly, since 2019, the Pistons have failed to defeat the Bulls in even a single game much to their fans’ dismay. Many felt that they would finally be able to break the four-year-long losing streak. However, it ended once again with a rather embarrassing loss that turned out to be a golden opportunity for a particular Bulls star.

It is no secret that in contrast to the 90’s era, the Chicago Bulls are no longer considered a force of nature. Once recognized as one of the top teams in the league, the Bulls dynasty had left everyone in awe, thanks to Michael Jordan and his incredible teammates. It has been more than two decades since the red and black franchise won a championship, and this season looks no better than the previous one.

Zach LaVine enters the Michael Jordan territory

The ending to the Chicago Bulls vs Detroit Pistons game was rather a hilarious one, leaving millions of fans in splits. However, it ended up giving Bulls star Zach LaVine the much-needed game-finishing points to cross the 40-point mark. LaVine has been playing for the Bulls since 2017 and the UCLA alumna has already become the first Bulls player after Michael Jordan to score at least 40 points in more than 15 games.

In his 12-year stint with the Bulls, MJ scored 40+ points in 165 games in contrast to LaVine’s 18 games. The 27-year-old scored 41 points in their latest victory over the Pistons. Twitterati’s reaction to LaVine’s achievement was not as expected. Due to the vast difference between Jordan and LaVine’s total number of 40-point games and the humorous ending to the recent Bulls game, the 2x NBA All-Star ended up getting trolled by the fans.

Jaden Ivey’s blunder costs Pistons the game

As the game progressed to the fourth quarter, the Pistons were trailing by two points. With just 9.8 seconds remaining on the clock, Pistons rookie Jaden Ivey tried to call for a timeout after failing to inbound the ball to his teammates. However, the only issue was that the Pistons had already used up all their timeouts.
