Having dominated the sporting world for decades, Michael Jordan needs no introduction. And being the best in the business, he had his own luxuries. Back in the late 90s, the basketball legend admitted he never had to learn to rewire a TV. Despite wanting to be the best in everything, the NBA legend surely didn’t want to ace in something that could have landed him in trouble. The former Chicago Bulls player talked about his time with his former baseball teammates.

In 1997, Michael Jordan sat for an interview with Playboy magazine where he talked about his former minor league baseball teammates. During the interview, he was asked if he ever learned how to rewire a motel TV to steal a premium cable. Apparently, almost every minor-league ballplayer possessed that particular skill. However, His Airness answered in the negative. He replied that since he could afford to pay for cable, he never had to learn how to rewire. Furthermore, he added that his teammates would also gather in his room to watch TV.

“No, I can afford to pay. But nobody else was ordering movies; they were saving their money. That?s why my room was the team theater. All the guys came in to watch the movie with me,” said the Chicago Bulls legend.

Notably, being a 3-time NBA champ. it was not difficult for MJ to afford a premium cable.

Michael Jordan recalls the time he played in minor-league baseball

Remember the time Michael Jordan decided to retire from the league? That sure was a shocking revelation. And then His Airness chose to shock the sports world once more when he joined Minor League Baseball. However, his baseball stint lasted no longer than two years before he decided to return to the NBA in 1995. Ever wondered what his time was like during the two years he spent playing baseball?

According to MJ, the times he spent playing baseball were fun. The Hall of Famer shared that in the minor league, the players would always make time to hang out together. He said his teammates would often stay out till three-four in the morning having fun and would still be game-ready the very next day.

“The camaraderie in baseball, at least in the minors, was unbelievable?10 or 12 players hanging out together every night. I still keep in touch with some of those guys,” said Jordan.
