It was a heartbreaking loss for Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets as the Miami Heat came into the arena to take Game 2. What was supposed to be another win in Denver’s column quickly got out of hand, with Miami going on a strong run in the final quarter of the game. So, when Shaquille O’Neal asked for Gabe Vincent’s views on respect, the 6’2 guard was quick to shut down the NBA legend.

The Miami Heat became the second team in NBA history to be the eighth seed and make it to the NBA Finals. So maybe fans and analysts have not given the Heat the respect they deserve.

The Miami Heat won Game 2 with a final score of 111-108. Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with an amazing 41-point performance but was unable to get over a strong team performance by the Heat’s roster.

After the game, Los Angeles Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal had the opportunity to ask Heat’s shooting guard, Gabe Vincent a few questions, and he questioned him, asking, “Are you guys a little upset that you’re not getting the respect that you deserve?

To that, Vincent had an immediate response. He boldly stated, “I speak for my whole team when I say we don’t give a damn. We just want to get 4 wins. We don’t give a damn about none of the other stuff.”

While Vincent’s words may have sounded a bit crass, his mindset is clear as to what the team and Vincent himself are focused upon. And that is to win the 2023 NBA championship at any cost.

Heartbreak for Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets

The Miami Heat did an amazing job in the fourth quarter to get a certain advantage over the Denver Nuggets. It is usually the Nuggets’ game plan to go on a run in the fourth quarter in order to put the game away.

However, this time the Heat scored a bunch of points, creating a huge point margin between them and Denver. Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo both poured in 21 points each, while Gabe Vincent led the team with a 23-point performance.

The final shot missed by Denver’s Jamal Murray could’ve sent the game into overtime and changed the outcome of this matchup. Unfortunately for Denver, he missed. Instead, they got handed their first loss on their home court in this matchup.
