For some who are unaware, Will Smith was guilty of slapping legendary comedian Chris Rock on the stage of the 2022 Oscars, over a joke on his wife Jada Smith. It was an action that was heavily criticized, added to this was the fact that he went on to win the Academy Award for best actor in the same ceremony.
Rock decided not to speak on the matter for over a year, and many respected his wish of speaking when he wanted to. Fast forward a year later, in his Netflix special Chris Rock: Selective Outrage, the comedian decided to clap back at Will Smith, mentioning some unusual events that led to Will Smith and his wife talking about the problems in their marriage in front of the camera on The Red Table.

“She hurt him more than he hurt me,” said Rock as he was in disbelief after observing the “interview” in which Will Smith and Jada Smith participated. In The Red Table interview a while ago, Jada Pinkett Smith admitted to being in a relationship with August Alsina while Will Smith and her going through a tough time. Additionally, Pinkett-Smith’s statement that it was a long time since she “felt good” wasn’t really appreciated by the audience.
However, it seems like Rock wasn’t the only one having those thoughts, as in 2021 on the Full Send Podcast, Dennis Rodman criticized the couple for the interview.
“What about the Bullsh*t mess with Will Smith and [Jada] Pinkett?” said Rodman while discussing the intricacies of relationships as he gave an example of the “entanglement” of Jada Pinkett Smith and August Alsina. In the same podcast, Rodman explained his view of women in today’s society, and where some things go wrong.

“Girls today wanna sit there and do one thing, they wanna outshine other girls,” said Rodman. The Bulls legend’s view on love comes from the years of his wild dating stories, and how he’s been treated during that time. When one host in the podcast mentioned how the panel had very strong opinions on the matter, The Worm mentioned how men today needed to talk about love and relationships as not everyone is rich enough to be happy all the time.
Needless to say, there would hardly be anyone that would agree with the Smith couple and their decision to discuss their relationship on camera. Chris Rock, who never raised his voice or hand at Will Smith for his violent actions, decided to use the same incidents as material to use in the comedy special.
