Interestingly, Kyrie will have a $36.5 million player option he can decline to become an unrestricted free agent this summer.

Lakers are the best option for Kyrie

If Kyrie chooses to be free-agent, multiple teams surely would be interested in the star. If going by what fans want, his desired spot is with the Lakers. With Russell Westbrook not performing as per expectations and the team failing to even qualify for playoffs, they direly need a superstar. Kyrie would also want to go for another ring around his finger and thus their interests align. 

Lakers surely have a championship-winning potential team. While there has been a bit of a beef between LeBron and Kyrie, the chemistry that both the players have showcased in past is unmatchable.

If we go by fans’ speculation, they believe that Westbrook moving to the Nets and Kyrie moving to Lakers is one-way things can work out. While this trade sounds like a losing trade for the Nets, the willingness of Kyrie would also come into the picture. There also have been multiple reports of Lakers and Nets executives meeting up. Thus NBA fans might have speculated right.
