Against all odds, the Golden State Warriors have made it to the NBA Finals. A major upgrade this season was Klay Thompson returning to the court after two seasons. The team was struggling without its strongest players in cohesion and worked well with the roster this season.

However, every player might not perform their best every day. While it might be alright during the regular season, it might cost a team the series during the NBA playoff.

Fans troll Klay Thompson after his recent performance vs Celtics

Though the Warriors beat the Celtics 107-88 in Game 2, Thompson’s game was far from impressive. The Washington State product scored 4-19 from the field, out of which 1-8 was during the first half. In fact, he went 0-6 on contested FGA in the first half, where he had two points. Overall, he scored 11 points, making 1 of 8 from the three-point line.

Going by fans’ reactions, Thompson is now an ‘overrated’ and ‘washed’ player for the Warriors. A few seemed to compare Thompson to Miami Heat’s Butler or Philadelphia’s James Harden, arguing that the other two are better. Meanwhile, others wanted the team to trade him, hoping for a more effective player.

Moreover, Klay Thompson’s NBA 75 team snub was brought up. The three-time NBA champion was publically upset about not making the 75th-anniversary team, which compiled most of the top players the league has ever seen. Thompson was ‘sick of the disrespect’ and spoke about the issue, multiple times.

Unfortunately, judging by his performance, fans seem to believe it was the right choice to leave him out.

Are the Warriors on their way to another title?

With the series tied at 1-1, one cannot predict an accurate outcome just yet. The Celtics were unstoppable during their Game 1 120-108 victory, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown leading the way.

On the other end, Stephen Curry led Game 2 for the Warriors with 29 points, with Kevon Looney adding 12 points. Considering the back and forth, fans could witness another seven-game series for the finals. Game 3 is scheduled for Wednesday, June 8, 9:00 PM EST.
