Although Shaquille O’Neal might be one of the greatest players ever, it seems he is still a child in front of his mother. Talking on his popular podcast, Shaq revealed how his mom scolded him.

Moreover, this happened in front of a packed crowd. During one of his school events, Shaq decided to bring some style to his clothes.

However, Shaq’s mother, Lucille, did not like his outfit. She scolded Shaq in front of everybody attending the event.

Shaquille O’Neal has had a career to remember in the NBA. He won 4 NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Miami Heat among various other accolades.

However, it doesn’t matter how big of a star Shaq is in front of his mother. He has talked about various stories where Shaq has been schooled by his mother.

Talking on The Big Podcast with Shaq, he talked about one such instance. Shaq said, “My momma used to tell me that. One time, we had an event, I came in and I was Iced out. She said, ‘Why you got all that stuff on? Sit your ass down.'”

For the uninitiated, Shaq never really spent time with his biological father. O’Neal spent his childhood with his mother, Lucille, and stepfather, Phillip Harrison.

During an event, Shaquille O’Neal talked about his family and the roles they played in his life. However, he had a special segment from his speech reserved for Lucille O’Neal.

He said, “So mom from the bottom of my heart, I want to say thank you. I love you, I appreciate you, I wouldn’t be here without you. I can remember times where I didn’t want to go to school. And she said, ‘Go to school boy’. Now I’m the CFO of the best cruise line ever.”

Safe to say, Lucille played a huge role in giving us one of the most entertaining athletes of his generation. Shaq retired after playing 19 seasons in the NBA with an average of 23.7 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
