Mother Lucille Confessed Almost Giving Up on Shaquille O’Neal After His Father Admitted What He Really Felt About It: “I Had No Choice, I Had to Either Be a Mother or Give This Child Up”

In addition to playing basketball, Shaquille O’Neal is a big name in the business, living a great life, which wasn’t always like this for him. He is one of the wealthiest people to come out of the NBA. Since he was a child, he has faced a lot of struggles, mostly because of the lack of support he received from his father.
The man was fortunate to have a determined mother who didn’t let him down under any circumstance. Lucille O’Neal discussed many aspects of her life during an interview with Stephen Curry’s parents, Dell and Sonya Curry.

Even as a 17-year-old girl, she managed to raise Shaq despite her challenging circumstances. In addition, she explained how Shaq’s father was not interested in becoming a father. In order to give this child a better life, she worked hard.
Her struggle as a caregiver for Shaq and his siblings has been an open topic of conversation for Lucille. Despite only being able to provide them with basic amenities and fulfill their basic needs.
Having a strict budget, Shaq did everything he could to support his family financially at that time. Lucille had to fight tooth and nail to give Shaq the chance to become one of the greatest basketball players in history.
The mother of Shaquille O’Neal spoke about the importance of respecting elders
In the interview, she discussed how she grew up in a strict environment and how it helped her become who she is today. According to her, her upbringing helped her to be a good mother and an independent woman.

She said: “Shaquille‘s father at that time, he didn’t want to be a father and I had no choice. I had to either be a mother or give this child up and I couldn’t bring myself to do that at all. So I took the responsibility, even though I had to do it on my own.”
