However, on a recent occasion, an NBA Hall of Famer Dad’s bold take involving LeBron James and Luka Doncic left his son in shock. The 31-year-old player struggled his way to dodge the question on a podcast.

Luka Doncic has proven to be an NBA sensation ever since his rookie season. Moreover, he impressed the ball community with his consistent electrifying performances. Eventually, the 24-year-old star’s success led fans and legends to draw comparisons between him and King James. However, the NBA Hall of Famer Tim Hardaway’s unique comparison left his son searching for words to reply.

In a recent podcast episode of Get Outta Pocket, the Dallas Mavericks guard Tim Hardaway Jr. joined in for a candid conversation. The 31-year-old star discussed an array of topics about his dad, playing alongside Doncic and many more. However, one of the hosts put Hardaway Jr. on the spot with a statement. The host said, “a few months ago your dad said that Luca at age 23 was better than LeBron was at age 23.” The Mavs star, shocked by the statement, said, “My dad said what now ?” 

Hardaway Jr. didn’t respond to the statement and eventually, the host used his dad’s statement as a lead to the next question. Hardaway later went on to justify his reasons for Doncic’s chances of cracking the top 5 NBA All-Time list. “Guy’s not even in his prime, which is scary,” Hardaway mentioned.

Who is NBA Hall of Famer Tim Hardaway?

Hardaway played a total of 13 seasons in his NBA career between 1989 to 2003. Notably, he represented the Golden State Warriors and the Miami Heat for a long period. The 5x NBA All-Star averaged 17.7 points in 867 games. The NBA honored the legend by inducting him to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2022.
