Damian Lillard has been making all the rumor and gossip columns over the past fortnight. The Point Guard for the Portland Trail Blazers has not had the best of luck during the course of his enthralling career. Individually, Lillard has done exceedingly well, but it hasn’t been smooth sailing off-late. Following an apparent recent fall-out with his current team, Lillard has been trending across the basketball world.

A new environment for Damian?

Lillard has been linked to numerous squads over the past two weeks, and most of them would surely benefit from his inclusion. From the Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, New Orleans Pelicans, to the Dallas Mavericks, Los Angeles Lakers, the potential successors in grabbing Damian are countless.

One of the very surprising, yet prominent names on all the lists is that of California’s very own Golden State Warriors. Not many believe that there is a realistic chance of the deal happening, but in basketball, anything is possible. The Warriors could be interested in signing another destructive field goal specialist, possibly via a trade. Also, with Klay Thompson set for his anticipated return next season, the ‘Splash Trio’ would wreak havoc in the league.

NBA agent unsure if Damian Lillard will fit in

Addressing the ongoing rumors, an undisclosed NBA agent said that the Warriors might sign Lillard, but questioned his fit in the line-up. “The Warriors are the only team that can make a trade and still contend, although the fit is questionable,” he quoted.

The agent believed that Lillard’s inclusion among the eminent names of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green was dicey. Responding to the agent, an ex-NBA Executive claimed, “The Warriors would have to do that. They’d be unstoppable.”

The Portland legend averaged 28.8 points and 7.5 assists in this year’s regular season. With numbers of that magnitude, it is undoubted that Warriors fans will be licking their lips in the hope of a swap deal involving Lillard. The likelihood of Damian leaving the Trail Blazers is on the slimmer side, but much crazier things have happened in the past!
