Drew League has been buzzing this year. The buzz is justified too. With appearances made by NBA stars this year, from ‘The King’ LeBron James to Trae Young, the stars have made this edition of Drew league even better. Their appearance has also brought much more attention to the young budding players.

The list of NBA players attending the Drew League has been increasing. Isaiah Thomas, a teammate of LeBron James during his time with the Lakers has also joined the list of players attending the Drew League and putting the court on fire.

Isaiah Thomas at the Drew Center

Isaiah Thomas, the two-time all-star with the Celtics, posted on his Twitter handle that he’ll be coming to the Drew League on 31 July at 1:45 pm.

Thomas had last played for Charlotte Hornets in 2021-22, averaging 8.3 PPG in 17 games before he was waived off. Making his way back on the court after a long time, Isaiah nailed his appearance. The scoring machine went off for a massive 45 points performance.

The 5’9″ player was draining it from all over the court. Putting up numbers for his team, he made sure he sent the message loud and clear. He’s still the IT who rocked the TD garden.

After his injury and trade from the Celtics, a video surfaced about a year ago where he was seen crying after an 81-point performance in a pro-am league. In the video, he kept saying, “they gave up on me.”
Pouring in support for the ‘Mr. Fourth Quarter’ after his Monstrous performance, LaMelo Ball tweeted, “Like Datt.”

Everyone likes to see a good player come back and this gesture from LaMelo sure means a lot. This is just another example of how NBA players support each other to get back on their feet. Their constant support and reassurance are what help build confidence for many players.

Stars at the Drew League

Before Isaiah, LeBron James, and alongside him, DeMar DeRozan was also seen balling at the drew league. Even Trae Young continued his tradition of playing in the league. The crowds also saw fireworks from John Collins alongside his teammate. Montrezl Harrell also played in the pro-am league.
