Not long ago, Enes Kanter Freedom grabbed media headlines after claiming that the NBA has repudiated him for freely voicing his political opinions. The 30-year-old center came to the conclusion after not receiving any offers from the league this offseason. According to his beliefs, the NBA has unofficially excommunicated him for hurting their business interests by expressing unfavorable opinions on China, the league’s largest consumer market outside the country.

Incidentally, Kanter Freedom has been very critical of the alleged malpractices of the Chinese administration. In addition, he has also invited conflict with the biggest superstar in the league, LeBron James.

Enes Kanter Freedom posted a tweet highlighting the plight of an NBA assistant coach. As it turns out, the unnamed staffer faced discrimination in the organization for being a Republican.

It’s kind of like thrown to the wolves,” the assistant coach described his experience working in the league. “And it didn’t feel like there was room for anything other than what they had already decided.”

Additionally, the staffer also claimed that he was ostracized for criticizing President Obama in a private conversation. In the end, he had no option left but to quit.
