According to The Athletic, Curry revealed how he wears contact lenses in order to tackle an eye condition he has been suffering for his entire life. Furthermore, it was observed that this condition hampered some of his shooting abilities and that the contact lenses helped.

Stephen Curry reveals rare eye condition

The Golden State Warriors are regarded as one of the best teams in the league. With stars like Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green in their ranks, they are bound to be good. Moreover, Curry is regarded as the best shooter in NBA history and he is the undoubted leader of the team.

Interestingly enough, Curry suffers from a rare condition known as Keratoconus. In this disease, the cornea thins over time and changes from its natural circular shape to one similar to a cone.

Talking about his condition, Curry said, “I started wearing contacts. It’s like the whole world has opened up.” With this change, Curry fixed his three-point scoring slump. Curry made only 51 of 135 three-point attempts (.378%) and  .411 during the 2018/19 season in the month of February.

After getting contacts, the Warriors stats improved in March, shooting .433% and going on a nine-game streak where he shot at least 5 threes per game.

Despite facing an injury crisis all season, the Warriors are still in the race for winning the NBA championship this year. They are currently third in the Western Conference and have pretty much booked their playoff spot. This has been mainly because of the efforts of Curry.

He has been phenomenal this season, and he doesn’t seem to slow down soon. Curry averages 25.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 6.3 assists per game this season. However, an injury to him caused everything to go downhill.

The team is visibly struggling without their main man and has slipped from 2nd to 3rd in their conference. Furthermore, a shocking loss against the Orlando Magic has given their fanbase reasons to worry. The latest reports on his injury suggest that he will be out for the next one and a half weeks at least.
