A much anticipated NBA trade deadline nears. With that, the hype for big moves is all dialed up. After the midway point of the season, the Golden State Warriors continue to hover around the .500 mark. Looking to make the most of Stephen Curry, the reigning champions could make some effective moves. However, according to the ones close to the organization, the Warriors will approach the trade deadline with a similar strategy from two seasons ago.

Injuries have hindered the Bay this season. Dealing with their stars going down, their rotations have suffered. However, as far as the team goes, the Curry-led side still seems to have a roster spot open. And by popular opinion, Anthony Lamb is one name that might fill the spot. Averaging nearly 30 minutes and shooting lights out from distance, his name screams the lethal offensive system for the Warriors.

However, his inclusion might also serve another important purpose for the San Francisco franchise when it comes to the trade deadline.

How any new face join Stephen Curry?

Several close sources to the Warriors have openly spoken about their strategy this season. According to The Athletic, the Warriors may look to reduce their tax hit by paying teams to take in players. If the Warriors do feel like adding another man after Lamb?s inclusion, space will need to be made. Likewise, the player who most likely will be cut will be JaMychal Green. Currently nursing an injury, the veteran forward struggled in his time on the floor.

But what kind of talent could the Warriors focus on? Looking at the playoff picture, the Bay isn?t interested in disrupting their set rotation. According to the reports, Steve Kerr might look for a flexible rotation piece. From the financial standpoint, the Warriors need players with no long commitments. Several names have scratched the surface. With both their backup centers down, Jakob Poeltl and Kelly Olynyk both seem to be fine fits. On the other hand, there are also younger options such as Darius Bazley and Rui Hachimura both of whom have just one more year on their contracts.
