Recently, Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen has gone on an insulting spree. The biggest of his victims, has been former teammate and supposed friend for many years, Michael Jordan. In his new memoir Unguarded, the former All-star has taken multiple shots at Jordan, calling him selfish. Many players have come in support of the small forward. However, if this throwback video is anything to go by, Pippen’s analysis might be over the top.

The Last Dance documentary was where the saga unfolded. In the 10-episode series, fans are taken through a whirlwind journey of the Bulls roster from the late 20th century, when they won their historic three-peat. As a result, it was clear to see that ‘His Airness’ was the protagonist. But this self glorifying method did not bode well with the 56-year-old Pippen, who has lashed out at Jordan multiple times for the same. In fact, he has gone to the extent of claiming that MJ “ruined basketball,” and that he’s just as good as his compatriot ever was.

NBA fans hit back at Scottie Pippen after Michael Jordan clip resurfaces

Many former stars have also come in Jordan’s support over the past few weeks. One of them has been Charles Barkley, who believes that Pippen is creating the unnecessary beef only to sell books. This theory seems possible, especially after a video clip from 1997 has gone viral. After the 1997 NBA Finals, Jordan, who was the MVP, invited Scottie to accept the award with him. He progressed to tell the 7-time All-star that he deserves the award, and that he means a lot to him.

Pippen’s belief that Michael Jordan only played for himself seems more and more far-fetched by the day. In response to the throwback visual, NBA fans have gone crazy on social media. They have come in support of their 18-time All-star, while destroying Pippen in the process. One fan in particular, stated, “Damn Scott. You gotta stop this. You looking bad in these streets fam.” Meanwhile, numerous others took sly digs at him. Have a look.
