Jim McMahon played for the Chicago Bears from 1982 to 1988. And the five-time NBA Champion started playing for the Chicago Bulls in 1984. The NFL icon and Jordan hung out together regularly, engaging in games like pool and golfing at each other’s places.

There are many stories about the pair. And fans had fun things to say about the photo, which was unearthed recently. Let’s look at some of them.

The two-time Superbowl champion once recalled Jordan’s knack for gambling as the Bulls no. 23 once bet $1 million on a game of golf with him. “We’re playing a $100 Nassau, good bet for me, I had little kids at the time, I was still playing with Chicago so I wasn’t making a lot of money. And I was playing really well and probably had him down two or three bets on the front,” McMahon said.

The NFL icon added “ I tee my ball up on 10, and before I take a swing, he says, ‘All right, I’ll play you on this side for a million.’ And he was dead serious.”

McMahon jokingly explained his denial of the offer because he knew he’d lose with that much money on stake. And suddenly his kids “don’t go to college” anymore.
