With the NBA season heading close into the playoffs, the teams are making their final moves. With the buyout market in play, some teams are trying to give the finishing touches. One of them are the Philadelphia 76ers. After signing James Harden in a blockbuster deal, the Sixers went under the radar and signed a Lakers veteran. However, the move isn’t getting the greatest response from the fans.
With the Harden trade going through, the Sixers lost their backup big man in Andre Drummond. Ever since then, Philly has been searching for a backup center to play behind Joel Embiid. Recently, news broke about the Lakers waiving DeAndre Jordan to free up a roster spot. The Sixers saw their opportunity and made their move.

But NBA fans were not in favor as they took shots at the 76ers.
Part of Lakers going for glory?
Since the trade for James Harden, the Sixers have been on a role. They have gone 3-0 with the duo of Harden and Embiid going off every single night. Hence, the move for DeAndre Jordan seems to be a downgrade in the eyes of NBA fans. The 76ers will terminate Willie Cauley-Stein’s contract to free up the spot for Jordan.

As a part of the Los Angeles Lakers, DeAndre Jordan hasn’t played much basketball this season. The veteran center is 33 years and isn’t as effective as he once was. However, looking at the role of Drummond, Jordan should be able to fill it up well. Despite age having an effect on him, Jordan is still a major threat in the air. Moreover, he is a great rebounder of the basketball averaging over 5 in just 12 minutes of action this season.
