At the beginning of the offseason, who could have foreseen two of the greatest points guard of this era joining forces? Somehow, destiny lined up that way. In what was a surprise trade, the Golden State Warriors offloaded Jordan Poole. In exchange, they got the services of Chris Paul, a man who has for the longest time competed with the franchise ace, Stephen Curry.

Chris Paul opens up about his relationship with Stephen Curry

For a good part of this decade, CP3 and Curry have been bitter rivals. Countless playoff battles and intense face-offs made each of their matchups a spectacle. Until today, the primary motive of each was to make a statement and get the win. However, now the tides have turned. The tandem will now have to find a way to win.

Considering they have been bitter rivals, it is inconceivable to see them compete side by side. But that would have been a problem if they were actually hated rivals. Paul was one of the first stars to reach out to the Warriors star when he came into the league in 2009.

Whether it will work is a question for the season. However, a partnership of two elite guards has rarely proven to be a failure. Yet the NBA fans felt the former Phoenix Suns PG has no enthusiasm to stay a Warrior.
