After looking at all the NBA action through the regular season, the much-awaited All-NBA teams came out. Just like all other years, fans had their disagreements over a few players. Surprisingly, Joel Embiid, who was second for MVP honors made the second team. However, fans were more shocked to see LeBron James make his historic 18th All-NBA selection after getting selected on the third team. They spoke on both sides of the table as the King added to his legend.

The Los Angeles Lakers had one of their worst seasons in recent years. The purple and gold were one of the worst teams in the NBA and even failed to make the playoffs. Despite having a Big 3, there was only one superstar who truly showed up. And that was LeBron. The Akron Hammer once again proved age means nothing to him. Competing for the scoring title, James went berserk this season. But he failed to take the Lakers into the postseason.

Likewise, he made the All-NBA third team for his overall impressive season. But fans didn’t see the sense in it.

LeBron James makes All-NBA history

After his mind-boggling display in his 19th season, the NBA couldn’t keep the King off his 18th All-NBA selection. James made the All-NBA third team and extended the record for the most All-NBA selections. While his individual accolades were beyond impressive, James saw little success this season, which kept him from getting any higher. However, despite his dominating performances, fans had their own opinions on James’ historic selection.

The fans were in splits over James’ historic feat. Some fans argued he should be on the second team instead of Kevin Durant and even had a case for being in the All-NBA’s first team. However, on the split side, some fans felt James didn’t do enough with the Lakers to keep him anywhere near the teams.

Looking at how James broke the system at 37, he put up an absolute masterclass. On a Lakers team having a young Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, James carried the purple and gold. Putting up 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, and 6.2 assists per game, no one saw this explosion come from the King in his 19th season. The Lakers definitely didn’t do justice to the talent they have, but a season filled with a plague of injuries made things even harder. Even LeBron played just 56 games because of unfortunate injuries throughout the season.
