Kevin Durant is one of the most lethal players in the league. Even after missing action for more than 500 days, KD looks phenomenal. In the pre-season, he has been tearing opponent defenses apart like he never left.

One might wonder if he can finally win the second MVP of his career this season. Regardless, Durant is still one of the greatest scorers in NBA history. He uses his tall frame to his advantage and can score at his will.

NBA Hall of Famer Isiah Thomas supports that argument and believes he is indeed a rare talent. “Definitely in the conversation @ZO2_ only a small few are comparable to @KDTrey5 with his height and skill set.”

Thomas tweeted this, believing it was Pelicans’ Lonzo Ball who asked this question. However, it was only a fan account. Despite whom he replied to, Isiah Thomas is clearly stating facts. Durant has a 6’10” frame, due to which most expect him to be a dominant post player.

But, over the years, Durant has developed himself into a knockdown scorer from all parts of the court. The Nets will hope that the Slim Reaper carries them to an NBA Championship alongside Kyrie Irving.

Recently the Nets played against the Boston Celtics in pre-season. Nets blew the Celtics in a 113-89 victory behind a 25 point scoring display from Kevin Durant. In the game, he looked phenomenal, like he was never injured.

This is good news for Nets fans, as Durant’s productions will make or break the season for them. If the 2-time NBA champion can bring out his A-game on the table on any given night, the team will be unstoppable.

Additionally, they have Kyrie Irving, who himself is a handful for opponents. Keeping everything in mind, the Nets have the potential to become the team to beat in the Eastern Conference.

In the West, if the Lakers can repeat the success they enjoyed last season, a Kevin Durant vs LeBron James matchup doesn’t seem too far-fetched.
