Tracy McGrady was one of the best players in the NBA. Among his many accomplishments are the seven-time NBA All-Star selection, the seven-time All-NBA selection, the two-time NBA scoring champion, and many more. He was always in the news either for his fantastic performances or his coordination with his competitor, Kobe Bryant.
People always assumed that with the NBA court rush, there is a rivalry since they are going against each other in every match.

Bryant, with his record, and scoring ability, can be considered one of the greatest players in the NBA. His entire career was spent with the Los Angeles Lakers, where he won five championships, two Finals MVPs, one MVP award, and was an 18-time All-Star.
There were times when Tracy himself viewed Bryant as one of the best players that the NBA had. Even one time, he praised Bryant for having a different mindset than anyone when he was just 19-years-old. And recently he talked about his relationship with Bryant from when they played together in the NBA. Despite being NBA rivals, the respect for each other always existed between them.
Tracy McGrady explains his relationship with Kobe Bryant
During an interview with SI’s Howard Beck on The Crossover podcast, Tracy answered some questions about his time in the NBA, his service, and his top performances. As fans have always seen them going against one another, he was asked about his relationship with Bryant. He responded by saying,
“We were brothers more than we were enemies and in terms of you know basketball two guys going at it we were friends, but you know I mean he’s a competitor. I’m a competitor when we stepped on the court you couldn’t tell, right? Because we were in the lines.”

In addition, he talked about the process of comparing them and the competition over who is going to be the best. Continuing, he stated, “But at the end of the day there was love. I stayed with him when I was 18-19 years old with his parents and him and you know spent a lot of time with him and we just hit it off right away.”
