It is no secret that NBA legend Dennis Rodman has a personal relationship with Kim Jong-un, the supreme leader of North Korea. This has landed him on hot waters multiple times. Once, Rodman was kicked out of a bar for his comments about Jong-Un. The Chicago Bulls legend is a party animal and there are countless stories about some of his wild parties. Multiple celebrities have stated that it is impossible to party as hard as Rodman does. However, it has sometimes ended badly for him.

Rodman has multiple times tried being sober and once went as far as two years without drinking. However, he then could not continue it anymore and went back.

In 2013, Dennis Rodman was drinking at a hotel bar in Manhattan, New York for more than three hours. He then proceeded to sing the praises of Kim Jong-un as he noted the leader was a “nice guy”. Rodman also talked about Kim Jong-un wanting to talk with the President at the time, Barack Obama. He then took it up a notch and as he started waving around Kim Jong-un’s manifesto and suggesting everyone should read it.

The bartender reportedly had enough of it and had him escorted out. As per a report from Daily Mail, an observer said, “He kept saying what a nice guy Kim is, and how Kim just wants to talk to President Obama about basketball. He was waving around a signed copy of the dictator’s huge manifesto, telling everyone they should read it.”

Furthermore, the witness added that when others in the bar tried to tell him Kim Jong-un was an oppressive leader, the five-time champion did not allow them to speak. This incident comes after Rodman’s first trip to North Korea. Ever since the first trip, he declared Kim Jong-un a “friend for life” and a great guy in multiple interviews.

Dennis Rodman’s first visit to North Korea

Dennis Rodman first made a trip to North Korea in early 2013 for an exhibition basketball game. Apparently, Kim was a huge fan of the Chicago Bulls team that won six titles. So Rodman and Kim seemingly developed a good relationship. But Rodman received huge backlash for his visit to the country where an American was held in captivity.

Rodman and everyone on the team who traveled for the exhibition game tried to clear the air in a live interview. An emotional Rodman stated that his actions would open up new avenues for the two countries.
