NBA commissioner Adam Silver was in the firing line of major allegations made by NBA player and human rights activist, Enes Kanter Freedom. Having been a controversial figure throughout his career, Enes decided to go in on Silver and the NBA. He said that they are forcing him to retire due to his tendency to openly speak his mind.

Having last played for the Boston Celtics in February 2022, Kanter said he has been blackballed from the league. He called Silver a hypocrite for forcing him to retire after Silver had given him his backing for speaking his mind. He believes his time in the league is up as teams will want to stay away from him.

Enes said, “They’re pushing me to retire at the age of 30”. He said he is still working out in hopes of returning to the league. He bashed Silver and the league, adding, “The one thing I can say is, the NBA and Adam Silver is definitely one of the most hypocritical organizations and one of the most hypocritical commissioners out there in the world.”

Enes has been very vocal about the human rights violations in Turkey and China. He accused the league of prioritizing their relationship with China over people’s lives. The NBA has a massive market in China and they make a lot of money from it. “They stand up for things until it affects their money or business,” Enes said.
