The rise of the Lakers franchise is one of the most decorated stories in sports. From Jerry West to Magic Johnson, the purple and gold grew into a legendary organization. However, not many can forget the legacy left behind by the late Kobe Bryant. He spent his entire career with the Lakers and enjoyed a rich vein of success. To pay homage to the Mamba, the ‘Winning Time’, series pulled off a heartfelt gesture that had fans emotional.

Bryant is one of the best Laker players to don the purple and gold. In his illustrious career, Bean stayed with LA through all the ups and downs. He even brought in five championships and left it all out on the floor until the final buzzer went off. Likewise, his death left a huge impact on the Laker nation who lost one of its most impactful players.

Winning Time pays homage to Kobe Bryant

With the series taking an entire journey of the rise of the Lakers, there is no way to not include Kobe Bryant. While they did not have his adult version in, they paid perfect respects. Winning Time showcased a baby Mamba in the stands watching his father play against Magic and the Lakers. There was also the infamous quote that said, “Put me in coach!”. Likewise, fans were left full of emotions with the homage to Kobe.

Bryant’s untimely death left a hole in the entire Lakers organization back in 2020. He let a mark that will never leave the purple and gold. The Mamba’s 20 years with the organization proved to be monumental in their rise to the top.

In addition, his personal impact always goes under the radar. While he was the best player in the league, Bryant made the Lakers a box office team. Scoring over 33000 points in a Laker jersey, the Mamba truly embodied the spirit of LA in his heart.
