The Los Angeles Lakers have suffered to generate any momentum this season. With just 31 wins under their belt, the purple and gold are the 9th seed in the West. LeBron James has been the man in the front for the Lakers. However, no matter the help they brought in, the King never got what he needed. Hence, now it seems there could be yet another veteran added to the roster, and fans ripped into the team after hearing this.
The season has been full of nightmares for the Lake show. Their major trade for Russell Westbrook didn’t go their way. In addition, even Anthony Davis has picked up regular injuries, keeping him out for the most part. But their major issue has come with defense, and the main reason is the abundance of old players in their lineup. The purple and gold are the oldest team in the NBA and it shows on the floor most of the time.

But it seems they haven’t learned their lesson yet. The purple and gold could potentially add in another veteran who they signed to their G League affiliate.

Lakers to add another veteran?
According to NBA insider, Shams Charania, the Lakers G League affiliate is making the moves. They have signed Darren Collison to the South Bay Lakers to help the number 2 seed team. But the veteran has his eyes to sign with the Lakers. This news had fans going right after LeBron and the Lakers for bringing in more help.
While the fans have made their feelings clear about the potential move, the Lakers can see it in two ways. Collison hasn’t played NBA basketball in a good amount of time. His age could just add to their problems as the former player is just 3 years younger than LeBron James. However, the 34-year-old was always an above-average defender during his time in the league. But age could see him slow down.

However, more than defense, he could solve a major problem for the purple and gold. Collison is a deadly shooter from downtown. He even led the league in three-point percentage in 2017 shooting 46%. It is well known how the King thrives in a shooter’s environment. Hence, a consistent shooter like Collison could come in as a savior to their season.
