A close game saw the Boston Celtics come out on top against the Philadelphia 76ers. While it was a low scoring game, young Jayson Tatum emerged big time in the Celtics’ win posting a double double. On the other hand, after the win, NBC Boston was at it again as they took a shot at Joel Embiid following his loss.

The Celtics have got the better of the 76ers for the most part. Back in 2018, Embiid himself admitted to it. He said that they don’t have a rivalry as the Celtics always beat them. That season, the Sixers won 3 out of the four regular season games they played against Boston.

However, at playoff time, the Celtics made easy work of them.

NBC Boston trolls Joel Embiid

After the Celtics’ 88-87 win, Tatum came on to do an interview. This is when NBC Boston came in and took a shot at Embiid. They displayed ‘Is still Embiid’s father’ right below Jayson Tatum.

This isn’t the first time we have seen it this season. They even did it with Dennis Schroder and Russell Westbrook when Boston won against the Lakers.

Tatum and Embiid do have some history. They shared a season opener battle where Tatum and Embiid kept jawing at each other. It ended with Jayson Tatum crossing Embiid and nailing a shot in his grill.

Tatum followed up by winking at Embiid as he went back on defense.

Coming to the game, it wasn’t pretty as both teams struggled offensively. Tatum and Embiid went to war with each other as both posted double doubles. However, at the end, the Celtics came up with a one point victory.

Jayson Tatum scored 26 points while grabbing 16 rebounds. His counterpart, Jaylen Brown scored just 9 points while shooting 27% from the field.

For the Sixers, Joel Embiid came scored 13 points while getting 18 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 blocks as well. Seth Curry led the scoring department with 17 points to his name.

Overall, it was a sloppy contest for both the sides. Both teams shot under 45% from the field and had one of the worst offensive shows in a long time.
