Currently placed 15th on the Western Conference table, the Los Angeles Lakers bagged their fifth straight defeat of the season after losing 111-102 to the Minnesota Timberwolves. Impaired with poor shooting and a season-high 22 turnovers left the Lakers at the mercy of Karl Anthony Towns’ Timberwolves. The state of emergency for LeBron James and co. seems to continue.
The NBA fraternity has more or less held Russell Westbrook responsible for this poor run. Many chimed in that trading Russell Westbrook could be the solution to end the horrendous run. After the fifth defeat, whispers of a potential LeBron James trade have been added to the narrative.

On a recent podcast, NBA Insider Ric Bucher opined that now would be a good time for the Lakers to rebuild. He said, “If you wanna start the rebuilding process, do it now, and see what you can get for Davis and LeBron.”

Stephen A. Smith also favors the trade LeBron narrative. Smith predicts that the Lakers would soon end up with 11 straight defeats. He believes that the Lakers would get some of their assets back with a LeBron trade. He said, “I wasn’t saying to trade LeBron James because it’s LeBron James’ fault. What I was saying was, he’s the only thing of value that you have. You’re the Los Angeles Lakers, you’re Jeanie Buss — you’re gonna have to do this. The Lakers are just not good.”
The Los Angeles Lakers are certainly in a dark tunnel. Fans and experts are voicing their solutions that could prove to be the light at the end of the tunnel. However, it is in the hands of the organization’s front office and the team to fix the situation they find themselves in.
