The Nets secured a win against the Detroit Pistons on Friday, and neither Durant nor Irving was playing the game. It was James Harden who put up 44 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists, guiding them towards victory.

This marked Harden’s second 40-piece since joining the Nets this season. Furthermore, Harden also brought up his 31st career 40+ point and 10+ rebound game against the Pistons on Friday.

This now leaves him just one behind Oscar Robertson (32) and two behind Michael Jordan (33) as the guards with the most 40-point, 10-rebound game in NBA history. A commendable achievement indeed.

Harden joined the league in 2009, and it has taken him 11 years to reach this mark. Can he surpass Jordan in this mighty statistic with two more games with 40+ points and 10+ rebounds?

Harden claims he’s a frontrunner for the MVP award

There are so many players who stand out as contenders for the 2021 league MVP award. LeBron James, Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid, and Giannis Antetokounmpo are being constantly picked by fans and critics, but only a few have named James Harden till now.

It feels like he’s lost his shine after joining a team that already has two superstars, but ‘The Beard’ is strengthening his case with sublime displays on the court. After winning the game against the Pistons, Harden made a bold statement about his chances:
