Newly Crowned Lakers Star Shareef O’Neal Hated When His 325Lbs Father Shaquille O’Neal Did One Peculiar Thing

NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal knows all about winning NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers. He has 3 NBA titles with the Lakers and numerous other individual accolades to his name. Recently, his eldest son made his debut for the Lakers.

Shareef O’Neal, the LSU alumni recently got selected by the Purple and Yellow to play in the NBA Summer League. Safe to say, he is the perfect heir to Shaq’s legacy in the franchise.

Interestingly enough, it seems Shareef is not a fan of Shaq’s training sessions. During an interview, he talked about how Shaq plays it hard with Shaqir O’Neal and Shareef. However, Shareef later talks about how all the hard training sessions helped him.

Shareef said, “I mean it’s always fun to have my dad in the gym with us. At first, I used to hate it, he is really hard on us. He is really hard on Shaqir because he is the younger one.”

Considering his history with the Los Angeles Lakers, Shaq knows all about how to make it big with the franchise. His son, Shareef, could not have asked for a better mentor.

Shareef O’Neal was one of the biggest names entering the 2022 NBA draft. He played for the LSU Tigers, Shaq’s college team, and made a name for himself there. Interestingly enough, it seems Shareef is walking in his father’s footsteps as he recently joined the Lakers.

The Lakers hosted the Miami Heat in a match during the NBA Summer League. This was a perfect opportunity for Shareef and all the other young stars to showcase their talents. O’Neal wasted no time as he scored his first bucket as a Laker in just 7 seconds!

Although his debut was not phenomenal, he still ended up with 6 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist in 16 minutes of action. On the other hand, Scottie Pippen Jr., son of the Chicago Bulls legend, had a spectacular outing. He scored 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists.
