Apparently, the first seed had the last laugh against the eighth seed, eliminating the latter. Aggravating the woes of the Wolves’ supporters, star player Anthony Edwards indulged in a bizarre escapade, during the moment of defeat. While Edwards is facing the consequences of his conduct, fans get divided over the same.

However, the Wolves star wrongly decided to swing a chair on the way, perhaps to let out his frustration. The fifth game between the Nuggets and the Timberwolves was reaching its conclusion. Anthony Edwards’ side was down 112-109. With 2.5 seconds to play, Edwards attempted for a deep 3 in vain. Before the ball could hit the floor, a disappointed Edwards sprinted towards the Wolves’ dressing room. While making the run, the 21-year-old swung a chair which allegedly struck two female employees, before hitting the floor. Subsequently, the young baller was cited for third-degree assault.

This incident that landed Edwards in hot waters is now the talk of the town for the hoops community. Recently, NBA Central has tweeted a footage of Edwards’ bizarre antic from a closer angle. Numerous fans rushed to Twitter to take a look at the infamous moment. The two female employees who allegedly got struck by Edwards have been injured, reports said. Though the Denver Police has reportedly confirmed that the injuries are minor, Edwards has been cited with third-degree assault. Third-degree assault is a class one misdemeanor in the state of Colorado and is defined as “knowingly or recklessly” causing bodily injury. Besides, the Wolves star is scheduled for a court hearing on June 9 at Denver. Fans, however, have put the allegations in dubious light after seeing NBA Central’s tweet.
