It has been quite a few days since March Madness concluded but the Angel Reese-Caitlin Clark drama is yet to see its end. What started out as trash talk turned into a huge controversy that drew a lot of attention. Basketball fans continue to criticize or defend their preferred players. Meanwhile, a football veteran decided to convey a message and advise the young rising stars amid the ongoing issue.

When Angel Reese did the John Cena celebration to taunt Caitlin Clark, she probably did not anticipate the amount of hate she would receive in the aftermath. The 20-year-old star faced severe backlash for mocking Clark. While she had her fair share of supporters who spoke out in her defense, it certainly didn’t stop people from calling her “classless”.

Amid all the “You can’t see me” drama, neither Reese nor Clark harbor any resentment towards each other. While the sports world had a lot to say on the matter, Clark remained quiet until recently. During an interview with ESPN, the AP National Player of the Year said that Reese should not be criticized for what she did. Around the same time, Reese had stated in a podcast that there was no beef between her and Clark.

He said, “I think basketball has their Magic-Bird dynamic that they’ve been just craving for in women’s basketball. They’re gonna run with that. Obviously that’s racial as well but as long as it doesn’t go too far, I’m fine with it.”

Additionally, Wiley also had some pearls of wisdom to share. He added, “When you’re mad at how you’re being treated, the other person that’s being treated better than you is not your problem. I went through this as well. They’re not the enemy, it’s the people that are treating you wrongly.”
