The Los Angeles Lakers registered the first win of their five-game road trip against the New York Knicks. They beat the Knicks by 6 points – a victory led by LeBron James (28 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds) and Anthony Davis (27 points). For the Knicks, contributions came from the likes of Jalen Brunson (37 points) and Julius Randle (23 points). Despite their efforts, LeBron’s triple-double shined through the Madison Square Garden, leaving fans in awe of his magic yet again. Furthermore, Tuesday night was a record-making one for the four-time NBA champion and his triumph was witnessed by a host of celebrities in the audience. 

 

With 11 assists on Tuesday night, as reported by NBA’s Twitter handle, LeBron surpassed NBA Hall of Famer Steve Nash and stood tall in fourth place on the all-time list of most assists. Additionally, the four-time NBA Finals MVP is now 88 points away from breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record for the most points in NBA history. LeBron’s historic night was witnessed by celebrities like Chris Rock, Emma Stone, Pete Davidson, Michael B. Jordan, Hasan Minhaj, Ben Stiller, and Jon Stewart. New York Giants QB Daniel Jones and Rangers legend Henrik Ludovist were also present. While fans discussed LeBron’s magic, they rushed to comment on the packed celebrity front row at the MSG.

Amid the celebrity galore, fans focus on Chris Rock

A celebrity sighting at an NBA game is always an exciting affair for fans. This excitement flourished on Twitter as fans commented with the heart eye emoji and expressed their surprise that Jon Stewart and Pete Davidson were sitting together. However, Chris Rock stole the thunder as fans reminisced about the infamous moment from the Oscars.

Fans wrote that they recognized him as the guy who Will Smith slapped during the final moments of the Oscars. They took a dig at the comedian, claiming that “Will Smith owns him”. Further, they commented on Rock’s expression and had a few words to say about his grin.

An all-around performance for the Los Angeles Lakers

Lakers coach Darvin Ham commented on LeBron’s performance during the post-game media session. He said, “LeBron was in great rhythm tonight and you know it was beautiful to see.”

Apart from LeBron’s performance, what stood out for the Lakers was that the entire team came together on the floor. They looked in sync and the chemistry flourished with each play. Rui Hachimura put up a 19-point show with 9 rebounds. Russell Westbrook was instrumental with his 8 assists, 6 rebounds, and 17 points.
