NBA Legend Charles Barkley Spent Time With His ‘Man Crush’ Tom Brady Instead of Watching Big Sporting Event: “I Just Don’t Have That Type of Patience”

Out of the many who are excited about the FIFA World Cup 2022, Charles Barkley might be the least interested. The Utah Jazz legend recently explained how he and soccer are probably two parallel lines that may never converge. The 59-year-old focused on his routine and work instead of watching the Qatar World Cup. The 11-time NBA All-Star preferred to hang out with his ‘Man Crush’ rather than watch the USMNT play against Wales.

The 11-time All-Star came down recently to sit with Ernie Johnson in a recent podcast and mentioned how soccer isn’t just the thing for him. Barkley went on to explain what he did while the USMNT played their first game for the Qatar 2022 WC.

Charles Barkley ‘chilled’ with Tom Brady while USMNT drew against Wales

The NBA legend Charles Barkley couldn’t care less about the world cup. The 59-year-old recently sat down for The Steam Room podcast with Ernie Johnson and candidly explained what he felt.

I’m not gonna watch a whole soccer game, that’s not gonna happen, Ernie,” said Barkley when enquired about the first USMNT game. Johnson then asked what Barkley ended up doing instead “I watched bits and pieces, I’m not gonna sit down and watch a whole soccer game, I just don’t have that type of patience.” said Barkley. The legend also mentioned that he follows the USWNT in “bits and pieces” because they’re the best in the world. Further, the Utah Jazz legend said what he was doing instead. 

I was actually taping the Tom Brady podcast yesterday, that’s why.. I did Tom and him and Jim Gray, I did. Let’s Go!” said the Jazz legend. The 11-time All-Star mentioned how he had a great time filming the podcast. The 59-year-old’s love for the NFL icon is not a secret to anyone.

The NBA legend once jokingly said how he couldn’t “remember nothin’”  after he saw Brady. His joke continued when he also said that Brady would be his pick for the ‘Sexiest man alive ‘. 

USMNT and the 2022 FIFA World Cup

The US soccer team had a challenging first game in the Qatar 2022 WC, as they struggled to keep a lead against Wales. Wales National team was competing in the World Cup after 64 years, making it a comparatively happier affair for the Welsh. It’s yet to be seen how the USMNT deals with the next two matches of the round. With Premier League regulars in the squad, the expectations from the team are high.
