Widely considered the greatest quarterback in the history of the NFL, Brady’s retirement has effectively marked the end of an era. Reflecting on his stellar career, Hall of Famer Charles Barkley recently made a bold comment that clarified his stance on the LeBron James-Tom Brady debate.
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is arguably the most significant active basketball player in the NBA. In the 20 years of his NBA career, King James has built a long list of accolades that established his status as one of the best players in the league’s history. Despite James and Brady representing two different sports, NBA veteran Charles Barkley has declared who he thought had a better career.
Not LeBron James but Tom Brady is Barkley’s choice

11x NBA All-Star Charles Barkley recently appeared on the Dan Patrick Show via virtual call. The host, Dan Patrick, asked Barkley who he thought had better career accomplishments between LeBron James and Tom Brady. The ‘Round Mound of Rebound’ replied that Brady should be appreciated more for his achievements. The reason is that while NBA players can afford to lose up to three games and still have the chance to win, the same cannot be said regarding football.

Given that the NFL only gives one chance to either win or get tossed out of the competition, Barkley admired Brady for making it to 10 Super Bowls and winning seven. Furthermore, the former Phoenix Suns superstar even drew comparisons with Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to drive his point home.
Chuck said, “I think what Tom Brady accomplished, it’s arguably… his career is unparalleled. I mean, think about it, as great as Pat Mahomes is, think about that, as great as Pat Mahomes is, if he wins this Super Bowl, he’s only got two. He’s only got two Dan. Think about that.”

Barkley concluded by saying that even though he is rooting for the Philadelphia Eagles, he loved Mahomes, but in the end, he would only have two Super Bowls compared to Brady’s seven. Chuck probably tried to make the point that while Mahomes is considered among the best quarterback players in the league, he still has a long way to go before he can surpass Brady.
Barkley puts LeBron ahead of Michael Jordan
Months before overshadowing LeBron James in the Tom Brady debate, Barkley announced the 4x NBA champion as the ultimate GOAT over Michael Jordan. Despite their strained relationship, Barkley and MJ go way back. Therefore, his GOAT statement came quite as a shock for the NBA world.
