Team USA had one tough journey at the Tokyo Olympics. However, they fought through the hate and went on to win the gold medal. After winning, Kevin Durant and Draymond Green were quick to call out the people who criticized them. But the real fun was their celebration.

While on Carmelo Anthony’s ‘What’s in Your Glass?’ podcast, Green spoke about how Team USA celebrated their win at the Olympics. He also narrated the story behind their FaceTime call with Tom Brady after winning.

Draymond Green was surprised
While talking to Carmelo, Green shared all the details of how the Tom Brady face time happened the first time. He spoke about how Brady messaged him, congratulating Team USA on winning gold. Green was equally surprised to see the message. He then told Brady that everyone wants to do a face time with him, and Brady proceeded to call Green in no time.

Green explained, “He dm’ed me, like ‘Yo, Congrats. Let’s f**king go.’ And I’m looking at it like ‘Oh s**t’. So I hit him up like ‘Yo, appreciate it, the fellas wanna face time you.’ Sent my number, he called in ten seconds.
“I think we all feel the same way, Brady the GOAT man.”

He went on to talk about how everyone on Team USA came in on the face time with the NFL legend. He also explained how the screenshot idea came up. Draymond Green said that it was Devin Booker who suggested them taking a screenshot of their conversation with Brady.

He said, “It was Book’s idea like ‘I’m about to screenshot it’. So, Book takes a screenshot, now everybody who just talked to him are like, ‘Hand me that back, hand me that back.’ Everybody get the screenshot. They kept asking me like, ‘Yo, send the screenshot’.

Team USA’s journey to Gold
Before the Olympics, everyone thought like every other time, USA would win gold. However, the journey this time around was much tougher. They started off their international campaign with back-to-back losses in exhibition games.

Moreover, even their Olympic journey started with a loss to France. After that, Team USA could not be stopped. Kevin Durant and his men went off and beat every team in their way.
They faced off against France once again in the finals. Only this time they took the win, securing their fourth consecutive gold with a 87-82 win.
