However, the incredible one-handed grab garnered several controversies regarding the legality of the catch. Smith seemingly couldn’t completely control the ball after the grab as he fell to the ground. Eventually, the scores weren’t troubled as 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan didn’t challenge the call. Moreover, the current NFL season has caught a lot of attention from several NBA stars after a controversial tweet from the Dallas Cowboys’ Twitter handle.

Though the Eagles registered a dominant 31-7 win over the 49ers, a lot of questions were raised about Smith’s catch. He caught the 29-yard throw from QB Jalen Hurts and scored a touchdown to go up 7-0 early on. The WR received cheers all-over until the replay of the catch raised some questions. If challenged, the grab would have likely been called a turnover instead of a touchdown. However, the 49ers ended their season with a frustrating defeat on Sunday. Additionally, the 49ers players faced a lot of injuries ahead of the NFC Championship game. Their starting QB Brock Purdy couldn’t finish the game because of an elbow injury.
