The Golden State Warriors started their title defense against the Los Angeles Lakers today. And before the game, Draymond Green reflected on the Jordan Poole incident as he dropped a video. And it has left NBA fans divided on the entire physical altercation.

A few days ago, it was reported that Green and Poole were in an altercation during a training camp. As more information started to leak out, it became clear that Green had struck Poole. Soon after a video was released showing Green punching Poole in the face after a verbal exchange between the two teammates.

The Warriors said they were gonna handle the matter internally, and Draymond Green later said he would be taking some time away from the team to give them space. Green later apologized to Poole and to the rest of the team as well. Ahead of the new season opener, Green also talked about the incident in the video.

The Warriors go big on their young stars

Despite all the drama surrounding the team, the Warriors’ front office bet big on its young stars, They were able to secure four-year contract extensions for both Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole, who are undoubtedly important pieces of their team.

Wiggins came over from the Minnesota Timberwolves and was able to shine in the playoffs last year. He has seemingly adjusted to his role, and he earned his first All-Star appearance last year as well. The Warriors signed him to a deal reportedly worth $109 million.

Meanwhile, Jordan Poole also secured his big-money contract as well. He was arguably sensational last year, and he has the potential to be the face of the Golden State Warriors in the future. Poole’s new contract is said to be worth $140 million.
