Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is all over the news currently. However, it has nothing to do with his exploits on the basketball court. After the game between the Indiana Pacers and the Memphis Grizzlies, things heated up outside the arena. Apparently, Morant’s best friend was involved in an incident where a laser mounted on a gun was pointed toward the Pacers’ traveling party. The league took action, and Davonte Pack, Morant’s best friend, was banned from home games this season.

Naturally, this invited a lot of hate toward Ja Morant. NFL legend Shannon Sharpe and other eminent voices have called out Morant’s gangster antics. Moreover, NFL star Sauce Gardner recently commented on the situation and bashed Morant for the same.

Sauce Gardner held nothing back while addressing Morant’s situation. As reported by The Athletic, “someone in a slow-moving SUV — which Morant was riding in — trained a red laser on them.”

Thousands of fans and analysts are bashing Morant for glorifying gangster antics despite being one of the biggest stars in the league. Gardner feels the same. Taking to Twitter, he let his thoughts out. Although he didn’t explicitly mention Morant, it is easy to figure out Gardner’s intentions.

He wrote, “Pro Athletes, if you really from the trenches, you ain’t gotta prove it every time you know eyes on you. A lot of y’all ain’t even like that for real and THATS FINE! All your life, you grind to go pro, make it pro & start making millions, and then turn gangsta? That’s backwards!”

Shannon Sharpe had a similar argument on the ‘Undisputed’ show. The three-time Super Bowl champion said, “I wish Ja would realize he’s not a thug.” He also bashed Morant for still surrounding himself with bad company.
