Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless are arguably two of the most well-known analysts in the world. Although they have worked together for quite some time, they disagree with each other more often than not. Incidentally, things got heated between the two after the Damar Hamlin incident which rocked the NFL world. Bayless put out a tweet after Hamlin’s unfortunate collapse which wasn’t taken well by a majority of people including Sharpe. Subsequently, the former NFL star confronted Bayless about his tweet, prompting a back and forth between the two of them on their FS1 show UNDISPUTED.
In a recent interview, Sharpe talked about the entire situation surrounding Bayless. The two fell apart after their heated argument and Sharpe had to intervene. Divulging details of their reported beef, Shannon Sharpe cleared the air around the controversy.

Shannon Sharpe addresses fall off with Skip Bayless
The Damar Hamlin situation had the sports world and the NFL world, in particular, in a state of shock. When the Buffalo Bills took on the Cincinnati Bengals, Hamlin tackled a Bengals player. He then collapsed on the field and received medical attention immediately.
Bayless put out a pretty offensive tweet about this whole situation. He wrote how the league association should not postpone a game of such high stakes due to this incident. Shannon Sharpe and numerous others did not like Bayless’ words and deemed them to be insensitive providing the current situation.
Afterwards, Sharpe and Bayless had a heated debate live on the ‘Undisputed’ show when the former confronted the latter regarding the infamous tweet. Apparently, their relationship almost ended. But Sharpe pulled the veteran analyst aside and had a talk.
During the interview with Sirius XM, Sharpe said, “I didn’t want that and I appreciate everything Skip had done for me. Bringing me there, giving me an opportunity to show that I was more than a football player, I could talk about more in the sports world than just football. I wasn’t willing to throw that away. Skip and I just needed to go into a room and talk and calm our heads.”
When asked whether they have mended their relationship, the NFL legend said, “We great, we great. Look, Skip and I we don’t have the relationship that Skip and Stephen A have. Because Skip and Stephen A. came from the same world.”
Shannon Sharpe pointed out that he has a very unique relationship with Skip Bayless because the come from different worlds. The former Super Bowl champion pointed out that Skip brings a journalistic perspective to the show and he brings the POV of an athlete. However, according to Sharpe, issues arise when those lines are blurred.
Skip Bayless and Stephen A. Smith once ran the show over at ‘First Take’. The duo had a great relationship but after four years of working together, Bayless left the show. Since then, they have a rocky relationship.
What happened between Bayless and Smith?
Stephen A. Smith joined Skip Bayless and the rest of the crew in ‘First Take’ in 2012. With a dynamic duo like Bayless and Smith, ratings skyrocketed and the show was a success.

Bayless left the show in 2016 and Smith became the center of the attraction. He made some claims about how ratings blew up because of him. Bayless certainly didn’t like his comments and blasted his former colleague on live television.
Bayless said, “How can you save and make a show that was already as big a billion to one success story as ESPN had ever seen?” The two veteran media personalities don’t have a good relationship following this incident.
