The Big Diesel has showcased an interest in teams outside the NBA! Previously, Shaquille O’Neal was the owner of the Sacramento Kings, which didn’t last for long. Ever since, the Los Angeles Lakers legend has shown interest in various NBA teams, especially the Orlando Magic. While he continues to wait for the right time, there are chances Shaq might splurge his money in Australia. The National Basketball League in Australia has made quite some noise in the last few years and has also got the NBA legend’s attention.

Now, the son of the 4-time NBA champion shared a rare video that might show why Shaq’s investment desire could turn out to be true!

What does the video shared by Shaquille O’Neal’s son show? 

After his tenure with the Sacramento Kings came to an end, Shaq put a pause on his scouting. However, in an interview recently, the 2000 NBA MVP displayed his desire to buy a stake in the Orlando Magic. Shaq believes, if at all the current owners of the Magic decide to sell the franchise, he would be the first one to buy it. Nonetheless, the chances of Shaq investing in an NBL team are still high.

Several Australian veterans in the NBA were a part of the NBL initially. The NBA has a good number of Australian players currently in the league as well. Some of the famous names are Joe Ingles and Patty Mills. Andrew Bogut, who played a crucial role in the Warriors’ 2015 championship, is currently playing for the Sydney Kings in the NBL.

Shaq wanted to bring NBA to NBL

Under Commissioner Adam Silver, the NBA has played quite a number of exhibition matches in several countries like Japan and many more. However, Shaquille O’Neal’s desire is to watch an NBA game in Australia.

The Australians have shown immense love for basketball. The NBL is quite a sensation in a few other countries as well.
