NBA legend Charles Barkley recently talked about the shocking incident of Buffalo Bills player Damar Hamlin. His collapse on the field was a huge shock for players and fans around the world. During a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on January 2, Hamlin suffered a cardiac arrest after making a tackle. After CPR from the medical staff, he was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Hamlin slowly recovered and was recently discharged from the hospital. He is now rehabilitating in his home.
Barkley talked about Hamlin’s recovery during a recent podcast appearance. He was thankful for the athlete’s full recovery and noted that it was a piece of very positive news around so many negatives circling the country. However, Barkley then proceeded to rant about politics.

In the latest episode of the show, Ernie and Barkley talked about the recovery and the aftermath of the Damar Hamlin incident. The duo was happy about the recovery of Hamlin and also talked about the trainer who performed the CPR receiving the football after a touchdown. Then the Philadelphia 76ers legend stated Hamlin’s recovery is a good thing and noted that the recovery and the news about his charity receiving millions in donation reminded him that there are still a lot of good things happening in the world.

However, he then proceeded to rant about the bad things that still plague the world. Barkley stated, “But like I tell you guys, you got these fools who run our country who had 11 votes to elect the speaker of the house. We got this fool who lied about getting elected. Man, we got to start holding our politicians more accountable. They’re supposed to make the world a better place, not awful.”

He continued, “The thing I learned about the Damar Hamlin thing is which I already knew but sometimes you just need to know man there’s so much good out there. For those people to raise all those millions of dollars for his charity.”

Damar Hamlin started the Chasing M’s Foundation when he was still in college. After his cardiac arrest, people around the country and the world have made huge donations to the foundation’s GoFundMe page. In one week, over $8.6 million in charity was received.
