Sydel Curry is the youngest sibling of the Curry children. She is the younger sister of 4x NBA champion Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors, and Brooklyn Nets star, Seth Curry. Her father Dell Curry was also an NBA veteran, and her mother Sonya Curry was a volleyball star in her college days. Sydel herself is a former athlete who played volleyball in high school and college.

In the interview, she mentioned that growing up, her personality was undermined by her last name. People would often treat her differently and judge her for being a Curry. When she played in high school, people would come up to her and say she was only there because of her brothers. After joining college, she faced similar challenges. She used to hear whispers like, “She is Steph Curry’s sister”.

In the video, she stated, “No, I’m not Stephen Curry’s sister, I’m Sydel Curry”. She further talked about how her goal is to build an identity outside the Curry name and achieve something significant that people will remember her by her first name. She said that she wants to walk in her mother Sonya’s footsteps and be more than just an “NBA wife”.
In the video, she also spoke about mental health. She mentioned that despite being part of a famous family and being wealthy, she, too, has had to deal with mental health problems: “I deal with my own issues, and I have my own mountains, and I’m the one that can cross them and go over them, and whether they are bigger than someone else’s or smaller than someone else’s, I still have to go over them, I have still have to deal with.”

Sydel undoubtedly has made a name for herself, she is a vintner, an active mental health advocate, a lifestyle content creator, and now a mother. The 28-year-old is married to NBA guard Damion Lee, and the couple recently had a child together.
