The Milwaukee Bucks are on an absolute roll since last month. The team has the second-best record in the Eastern Conference with 42 wins and 17 losses. Moreover, the Bucks are on a league-leading 13-game winning streak as well, with no plans of slowing down anytime soon. However, injuries may force them to lose their momentum as their star player, Giannis Antetokounmpo left the last game early due to a major injury scare.

The Bucks hosted the Miami Heat in their first game after the All-Star break. And what seemed to be an exciting matchup, turned out to be a concerning outcome for fans as Giannis Antetokounmpo left the game with an apparent knee injury.

With under two minutes left to play in the first quarter, Giannis asked for a substitution from his head coach. The ‘Greek Freak’ was seen limping off the floor and headed straight to the locker room.

Now, it is unsure how Giannis ended up contracting the injury. Was it due to colliding with an opponent player or was it a non-contact injury? The answer to that question will be revealed soon enough. Nevertheless, fans were left in disbelief as their star player left the game limping.

One fan tweeted, “That’s it i’m no longer a basketball fan.”

Another fan commented, “Idk why this man is forcing himself to play through injuries like this especially with his talent. Ik it’s because he is dedicated but it comes to a point imo. But it is what it is idk.”

Here are a few more reactions from fans on Twitter.

Fans in the comments section wished Giannis a speedy recovery. While others were disappointed to see another star go down with an injury.

Can the Bucks survive without Giannis Antetokounmpo?

It may be hard to believe, but the Milwaukee Bucks have been playing without Khris Middleton, their second-leading scorer, for most of the season. And yet the team has the second-best record in the Eastern Conference. This is only the second time that the Bucks have been able to manage a 13-game win streak. The last time was in the 1974-75 season.

However, an injury to Giannis may be something that will affect the team and their winning streak drastically. Not only is the two-time MVP the team’s leading scorer, but also leads in rebounding, field goals made, along with field goal percentage.

If the injury to Antetokounmpo turns out to be too severe, then he might end up missing out on substantial time. It would, in turn, lead to the question, ‘who will be able to fill in his shoes?’

Hopefully, the injury does not turn out to be too severe and we get to see Giannis back on the floor as soon as possible.
