Philadelphia 76ers star James Harden dribbled with command on Wednesday night against the Orlando Magic. He moved with ease on the court while making accurate shots from behind the arc and within the paint. His efforts, supported by Joel Embiid‘s 28 points, helped the 76ers to beat the Magic by 11 points. Despite Embiid’s efforts, Harden’s 26 points, 10 assists, and 9 rebounds were hard to ignore.

Throughout the season, the 10-time All-Star has held the attention of fans with each performance. This season, he has an average of 21.4 points and 11 rebounds per game so far. The talk around the NBA community was that Harden was all set to make an appearance in the upcoming All-Star weekend. However, nothing went as predicted.

On Thursday, the NBA announced the list of NBA reserves for the All-Star weekend. The likes of Joel Embiid, Jaylen Brown, Julius Randle, DeMar DeRozan, and more made it to the list; but Harden’s name was nowhere to be seen. This meant that Harden’s 10-year-long streak of making it to the All-Star weekend was now broken. As the NBA world tried to wrap its heads around this list, Joel Embiid and many others were quick to react to Harden’s news; leaving NBA Twitter in chaos.

Notably, Harden was the first to react to his news. He took to Instagram and posted a blank story with the caption, “The disrespect”. Following this, his teammate Embiid rushed to Twitter and shot daggers at the league. He wrote that the NBA “got some explaining to do”. 76ers’ coach Doc Rivers’ daughter, Callie Rivers Curry, reacted to the news. She wrote on Twitter, “no James is WILD.”

Soon after, fans online weighed in. Some fans took the 76ers’ star’s side and claimed that Harden’s story of calling out the league was justified. They wrote that he deserved to be an All-Star and that he was “robbed”. Fans also reacted to Embiid’s tweet and supported his move of calling the league out.
