The Memphis Grizzlies are one of the most exciting teams to watch in the league. They are one of the youngest teams in the league, led by their star Ja Morant, who has upped his game this season and led this young Grizzlies squad to the second seed. He was also the favorite to win the Most Improved Player award. But after Ja won it, he left the award to one of his teammates, who he felt deserved it more.

Desmond Bane was the 30th pick in the 2020 NBA draft. He has improved a lot since his rookie year and was the third-leading scorer on the squad. He nearly doubled his production in points and he is shooting over 90% from the free-throw line. Many expected Bane to win the award as Ja was more suited to be a nominee for MVP. But it was Morant who came out victorious in the end. However, he let Desmond Bane know that he thought he was the worthy recipient of the award as he left the trophy in his kitchen.
