The Los Angeles Lakers have shown some great resilience after a terrible 2-10 record at the start of the season. LeBron James and co. have been fighting hard in the Western Conference, with nine victories in the last 15 games. While the Lakers have shown some great transition skills and offensive abilities inside the arc, they continue to miss out on three-point shooting, costing them many close games. Recently, an NBA Insider revealed the details about the imminent trade package that the Lakers are reportedly willing to offer to have more shooting options on the roster. However, the new Lakers trade package has been ripped apart by the NBA world.

The Lakers’ trade mindset revolved around Russell Westbrook since the end of a disappointing last season. The Lakers were a part of several trade negotiations to trade Westbrook after his lack of performance last season. However, the 9-time All-Star has shown some great consistency coming off the bench this season. As a result, the new Lakers trade package is surrounded by some other players who have performed below expectations this year.

LeBron James and Co. looking to end 3-point shooting nightmare

As per NBA Insider Jake Fischer, the primary trade package offered by the Los Angeles Lakers is centered around Patrick Beverley, Kendrick Nunn, and a future first-round pick. The lack of consistency and performance from Beverley and Nunn might be the reason why the Lakers want to trade them.

As per the report, “Report: Lakers? primary trade package is centered around Kendrick Nunn, Patrick Beverley and 1st-round pick.”

Moreover, the NBA Insider reported that the Lakers were in negotiations with Detroit Pistons regarding Bodan Bogdanovic. However, the Pistons were keen on holding back Bogdanovic for a more lucrative draft asset. The Pistons forward is averaging 21 PPG while shooting 43.7% beyond the arc and 50.8% overall. Thus, the Lakers might be eyeing Bogdanovic who has shown some impressive shooting skills this season.

Fans react to Lakers trade package

As per sources, the Lakers are willing to trade Kendrick Nunn and Patrick Beverley for a better three-point shooter. Beverley was acquired by the Lakers during the offseason from Utah Jazz in exchange for Talen Horton-Tucker and Stanley Johnson. He was expected to fulfill three-point shooting and defense responsibilities. However, the Lakers guard’s three-point shooting is going through a tough phase.

Meanwhile, Kendrick Nunn has been inconsistent after being sidelined for the whole last season due to a bone bruise in his knee. Thus, the lack of consistent scoring is a concern for LeBron James‘ Lakers.
