Russell Westbrook has set his eyes on a bigger vision. The vision of becoming a billionaire. At the age of 34, Westbrook, who is famed for his on-court plays as much as his off-court takes, realized that he does not have much fuel left in the tank for the league. Like his former teammate LeBron James, who became a billionaire while still playing in the NBA, Westbrook wants to start early, too.

In a recent interview with Forbes, the Clippers star spilled the beans on his new “non-sexy business” and his desire to be part of the three-comma club.

Russell Westbrook’s “un-sexy” business interest and its potential

In his 15 NBA seasons, Russell Westbrook had made a great deal for himself. He has accumulated more than $300 million from his NBA salary and more than $200 million from off-court endeavors. Westbrook has his own streetwear brand and has plowed money into different industries like food, and muscle recovery, among others. The former league MVP, however, is not satisfied with his financial wealth and is eager to add more to it.

Westbrook had planned to buy an auto-parts manufacturing company. Mentioning the same in his Forbes interview, Westbrook said “It’s not a sexy business by any means, but it’s a very lucrative business that grows exponentially. It clicked for me in my brain. It’s like, non-sexy is sexy for me.”  Considering his not-so-glamorous aspiration of becoming an auto parts tycoon, about 32 automotive companies have committed to conducting business worth $1 billion annually with minority-owned firms. If Westbrook decides to invest his money in a manufacturer of car parts, he could immediately unlock some of those prospects.
